Amazing Praisers

The Amazing Praisers is a Christian drama group of church members that presents short plays or dramatic productions that carry a Christian message.  The group is open to all ages because people of all ages appear in the Bible. The participants can be actors, or help with production, sets, costumes, or a combination of these duties.

The group recently presented Christmas and Lenten productions.  The Christmas play was presented on December 24 at the 5:00 pm Christmas Eve service.

Part I told the story of the annunciation (the Angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary), the visitation (Mary’s visit to her cousin, Elizabeth, who already was pregnant with a son who would become John the Baptist), and Joseph’s vision (where he received angelic reassurance about Mary’s pregnancy).  Part II finished the story of the incarnation (Christ’s birth).  All children at the Monday service were invited to gather around the manger (altar) and participate as angels and join in the singing.

The group offered a two part Lenten play, which was a humorous production about life, death, and a cemetery in the high tech future where families converse with holograms of their deceased loved ones that were made prior to death.  It was an interesting interaction between the values of this world and the hope of the next.

Other productions are being planned that will provide further opportunities for all church members to release their hidden abilities.
